Why am I doing this project?

Happy Mother's Day! It’s a rainy day today, which means it’s the perfect time to get some work done! (P.S. — this will be one of my longer blogs!) School is coming to a close soon… which means exams are coming up :(
On a more exciting note, Chapel Hill Tire has graciously decided to help me with my little project. They will be mounting and balancing my tires in return for a few shoutouts here and on my car :) Chapel Hill Tire, thank you so much. Your generosity and quick response time helped me keep my project on schedule. It was so easy to communicate with you, and without your support, I wouldn’t be able to raise awareness for Parkinson’s.
Now, some of you might be wondering why I chose Parkinson’s. Someone I love very much is affected by it — my horseback riding trainer. She was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2023. She has also faced many other health challenges, including two hip replacements, two knee replacements, a full spinal fusion, and Stage 2 lung cancer.
You might wonder why I didn’t choose to raise awareness for lung cancer. Well, Parkinson’s is a lesser-known disease that is just as detrimental as cancer. I haven’t figured out all the logistics or legal details yet, but I want to collect donations — and whatever profit we make from the car — and donate it to the Parkinson’s Foundation. I will update you all when I have a link for donations!
While I’m just one person, and this blog and car might not reach a huge audience, I hope that those who do read it feel inspired and decide to make a difference in the world — whether it’s big or small.
